Our Mission

The Friends of Honey Hill is a membership organization supporting the preservation of the Honey Hill Battlefield Site

We support the preservation of the Honey Hill Battlefield Site for future generations by partnering with the Town of Ridgeland, SC on initiatives and projects concerning rehabilitation, preservation, protection, management and interpretation of the battlefield.  We will also work to promote the site as a significant destination for cultural and heritage tourism in the Beaufort-Jasper County area, working collaboratively with other area organizations such as the SC Battlefground Preservation Trust, the Lowcountry Civil War Roundtable and others to that end.

Our Plans

*Raise funds for the protection, restoration and preservation of the    Honey Hill Battlefield site.


*Preserve and protect battlefield site:

  -Establish monitoring program

  -Complete entrance road and parking area

 -Clear debris from Hurricane Matthew

 -Repair earthworks

 -Rehabilitate historic roadway

 -Create pathways for interpretation

 -Install orientation nodes and interpretative panels
